‘Here at Georgian Dollar, our passion for all things horse knows no bounds, particularly our love of Polo Ponies. Our founder, Amanda, owns three ex-polo ponies and considers them to be the unsung heroes of the horse world.
We are delighted to support Polo Pastures, a UK charity, who rehome and retire polo ponies, when they come to the end of their careers in polo. Polo Pastures are currently the only Charity dedicated to the rehoming and retirement of Polo Ponies in the UK.
For every order you place with us at Georgian Dollar, 5% of your order will be donated to this amazing and very worthy cause. We could not be more proud to support this incredible charity and we are so grateful to you, for helping us in our quest, to ensure that every polo pony gets the love and care they deserve once their time on the polo field has come to an end’.

Here is a little more information on this wonderful charity
Polo Pastures is a Charity based in Basingstoke, Hampshire for the rehoming and retirement of Polo Ponies when they come to the end of their careers in Polo. Our aim is to find suitable homes for Ponies who are no longer able to play Polo due to age, injury or unsuitability. All of the Ponies we rehome go out on a loan basis only, and are never placed back into Polo. We also work on advising and helping owners make the right decision when it comes to finding suitable retirement options for their Ponies.
We also work closely with other organisations such as World Horse Welfare and Hurlingham Polo Association to share information and discuss Pony Welfare both in and out of Polo.
We are currently the only Charity dedicated to the rehoming and retirement of Polo Ponies in the UK.
Polo Pastures was recently featured in the July 2019 edition of the Polo Times, in an article titled “From High Goal to Retirement” which talks about the options available to Polo Players when the time comes to retire their Ponies. As a Charity we rely on the generosity of our many supporters both in and out of Polo. 100% of the donations we receive goes into looking after the ponies in our care.
