Olympia Calling!
Wow Wee, what a rollercoaster ride the past couple of months have been! I feel terrible that I haven’t written a blog since September but I honestly feel like my head is spinning off my body at the moment and there are not enough hours in the day!
What a learning curve this year has been, I can’t believe it’s been 6 months since I launched Georgian Dollar and what a journey! Just after I launched the business in July, I applied to exhibit at the Olympia Horse Show but I didn’t think for one second that I would be offered a spot. I was therefore jumping up and down with excitement when I got the email in September that they were offering me a stand. Then after all the jumping up and down, a feeling of both nervousness and fear crept over me, as I realised I had no idea what I was doing!!
Before I set up Georgian Dollar, I had never run or been involved with a retail business, so there has been SO much that I have learned along the way. This has at times, been super stressful, as anyone who knows me will tell you, I am highly organised and a complete perfectionist. I like to be in my comfort zone and this whole process has pushed me to my limits (but in a good way!).
I started planning for Olympia at the end of September. I have never exhibited before and I was overwhelmed with what I would need, obsessed with making my stand look inviting and welcoming! So I had to start completely from scratch. After struggling along in the dark on my own for a while, I reached out to some fellow business owners on Facebook and asked for help, which was the best thing I have ever done. I was overwhelmed by the kindness and support from so many really lovely people, who had been there and done it several times. During the process, I have also connected with some really lovely ladies, who will also be exhibiting for the first time and we all have stands close to each other and it’s such a comfort to feel like I already have a group of friends to support me. I honestly could not have done it without these kind and wonderful people, so if you’re reading this, thank you thank you thank you!
I am now all packed up and ready to go and can’t believe that it’s only a few days away. I am excited and nervous all at the same time but definitely more excited that anything.
Since my last blog, I am SO excited to announce that you can now buy the Sieta and Regalita Jeans in the stunning Equiboodle Equestrian Outfitters Store in Gloucestershire, yay! I absolutely love partnering with Equiboodle, they are the most fabulous store with so many gorgeous equestrian goodies, so please do pop in if you live in the area or are passing by, you will love it!
We have also recently joined as a seller on the newly launched website called Equine Lane! Think ‘Not on the High Street’ but for equestrians, it is a one stop online shop for horsey peeps, so make sure you check it out!
Right I had better get on with the final preparations for Olympia but before I sign off, I wanted to take a moment to THANK YOU ALL!! What a year it has been and without all of you gorgeous lot, Georgian Dollar would not be nearly as fun or rewarding, so thank you all so very much. Your words of love, encouragement and support mean everything to me and I am so excited to see what next year brings.
