Christmas is Coming!
Yes, I know, it’s waaayyyy too early to be talking about Christmas BUT what is it about September that makes everyone start saying the ‘C’ word? Personally, I LOVE the whole build up to the festive period but I do feel that September may be a tad too early to start thinking about it, as I’m still holding onto Summer!
That being said, I’ve had to get into the gist of the Christmas spirit, as I have recently been offered a stand at Olympia!! Having launched the business in July, it was on my bucket list to exhibit there one day and in my true ‘take the bull by the horns’ style, I thought it would be good to apply early and I was SO excited when I was told I had got in…..for all of 5 minutes and then blind panic set in, ha ha!
Georgian Dollar is a venture that I feel very passionately about and this whole process has been a steep learning curve, mainly down to the fact that I have never run a retail business before, which means that I have never exhibited at a trade show before either, let alone one of the biggest horse shows in UK, eeekkkk!!
So since then, it has all been about Christmas and the list is endless! However, I have always been one to throw myself in at the deep end and the countdown is now well and truly ON and I cannot wait!
In other news, my new line of jeans are finally in production and will be launched in October, yay! I am so excited to share them with you! I am having the professional photos taken next week (by the amazing Deborah Heynes Photography), which I’m really looking forward to. Although, annoyingly, after a week of stunning sunshine, apparently next week is all thunder storms and rain, so looks like we’re going to have to improvise with umbrellas and wet ponies!
I was also super chuffed to have the Sieta Jeans included in the newly released November edition of Your Horse magazine! It has been such an exciting time for Georgian Dollar recently, I've been working hard on promoting the jeans and so to have one of the top 5 magazines feature my jeans and to see my vision come to life, is truly a dream come true for me. Definitely a framer! ❤️
I had some disappointing news about my gorgeous Reggie last week, as it looks like his navicular issue has flared up again. If you have read my previous blogs, you will remember that I took him on with a torn tendon and a lesion in his navicular bone, which was down to a polo injury from his previous owner. We gave him over a year rest and he was back on track and enjoying his hacks out, when last month he went lame again.
I always knew it would be an ongoing issue and I will throw what I can at the problem to try and get him back on track. He is only 8 years old and even though I am happy for him to be a field ornament if that’s what needs to happen, I really love riding him and I know he really enjoys his hacks out. I’m having further x-rays done next week, so let’s see what plan of action the vet suggests – finger’s crossed!
Apart from Reggie, Tita and Dollar are loving retired life and Macho as always, is my amazing trekking pony. We have been making the most of the incredible weather this week and getting out as much as possible.
What have you all been up to this month? If anyone has any advice/thoughts/experience with navicular, then please do message me, as I would love to hear from you!
Until next time, happy riding! 😊
